It’s just 40 minutes to downtown Dallas if you have business or want to enjoy all that the big D offers. It’s a short one hour drive to Waco, now famous for the Chip and Joanne show, FIXER UPPER, their location the silos and their new restaurant. Homestead Heritage is a great day trip just north of waco and is a working anabaptist farm of over 500 acres, they have shops, a restaurant to die for and so much more,! Look it up, it’s worth the trip. This home isn’t really set up for small children as there is no fence and the pool isn’t child friendly as it’s above ground and requires a ladder to get in and out. We hope this is a retreat for those interested to unplug after the day and enjoy the cows and the quiet time.

Other things to note We have farm animals that do farm animal type things without regard to who’s watching. There is poop, bugs, ants, spiders, and maybe things that slither, so always be aware of your surroundings. The health, safety, and well-being of our animals is of upmost importance. Please ask us before feeding them anything. PLEASE, PLEASE do not chase our animals. DO NOT let your kids chase our animals!!! It takes a long time for camelids to trust humans. Chasing them will guarantee minimal interaction and this is very annoying to us since we have spent years gaining their trust! Our animals are friendly and we have never had an issue with behavior. Just remember they are prey animals and may be very nervous around strangers! They do kick so avoid touching their butt area. We have a creek and pond where you can fish. It’s hot now and the warm weather combined with rain = frogs! If you are around the creek please be on alert for snakes.
